Day 2
Day 3
I showed photographs in an earlier posting of the wreck of the four-masted timber schooner Alex T. Brown.
I am posting the progress on my painting, this is the first day.
I am attending the IPCA Synergy Conference in Malta, April 30th – May 3rd 2014. This is a professional development conference hosted by the International Polymer Clay Association.
This conference aims are to elevate this beloved medium, with seminars in Design, Business and Technique and guest speakers, gallery exhibition and pre-conference classes.
I am a contributing artist in the gallery and have been working on a theme to promote not only my work but Australia.
I am using inspiration of the Colours of Australia as pictorial pendants and art canvasses for my work in the gallery.
Visitors to the Metal Clay Art Studio this weekend for a retreat were a lovely couple from Fremantle, Nadia and Peter.
Nadia was introduced to silver metal clay while Peter swam in the pool and watch the winter Olympics on television.
Nadia is making elements for a bracelet. Here she is finding patterns and shapes that she likes from experimenting in polymer clay.
These are the shapes in metal clay, they are dried and sanded, holes drilled and ready for firing.
Nadia is firing the bracelet elements using a butane torch.
The finished pieces ready to be strung together.
Nadia will send me a photo of the finished bracelet.
After a swim in the pool, time for champagne and nibbles before going out to dinner and watching the sunset over the marina at Two Rocks.
Sailing again this evening i light winds. Then on the way home the moon rose over the Narrows Bridge.
Ruth , Brendon and I went for a drive on the Indian Ocean Road. We stopped for coffee at Ledge Point and then onto Wedge Island for a 4WD along the beach.
Ledge Point – Dolphins swam close to the shore – boats are launched off the beach
Another evening sail this week. It’s very pleasant and relaxing out on the water watching the sun go down.
