Hadar's new book published

After returning to US, Hadar has announced that her third book has been published.

I have a piece of work featured in the book so can't wait to receive a copy of the book. I'll put up a pic when I get the book.

Mixed Metal Jewelry from Metal Clay, a 41 step-by-step projects for silver, and bronze, and copper clay, 128 pages, full color, soft cover, spiral bound.

US Metal Clay Artist visits Melbourne

Hadar Jacobson is a metal clay artist living in San Francisco,US. Last year I was lucky to spend four days working with Hadar at her studio whilst visiting the US. When the PMC Guild announced that Hadar was coming to give workshops in Sydney and Melbourne, I booked in straight away! What an opportunity an to gain experience from such a well known tutor.

Fremantle Sailing Club - George Law Foundation Race

On Saturday 3rd October I was a member of the crew on Anastasia competing in Fremantle Sailing Club's George Law foundation Race. This is an offshore race of about 24 nautical miles. I was really excited as this was my first 'race'. The course took us towards Rottenest, Garden Island then down Gage Roads to Fremantle.

The offical committee starting the race

Just before the start, as we sailed to the starting buoy we were thrown handlfuls of lolly 'snakes'. Apparently this is becoming a tradtion at the start of the race.

We were second in our division. Although we were fast we had a large handicap.
Great race, very exciting.

Fertilising my Orchard

I collect the fertiliser from Kwinna in bulk bags each weighing one ton.
I had to find a way I could get the fertiliser into the hopper of the spreader.
I shovelled and scooped it in.

I had to do this in the shed as it was raining and I didn't want the fertiliser to go all "cloggy".

This a shot of the fertiliser shooting out under the trees.

Oranges and blossom.
