First day in New Zealand

Last year I was due to go to Christchurch, NZ. A week before the flight the devastating earthquake hit the city, my visit was put on hold until this week. I have changed my ticket and decided to fly to Auckland, drive through the north island, catch a ferry to the south and fly back from Christchurch.
I arrived early in the morning collected my hire car and set off.
         
I drove though this gorge to reach the coast at Tauranga and then inland to stay with friends near Matamata. I climbed the track that took me almost to the top of that waterfall, certainly burning off a few hundred calories.
