Surface Design - Texture on Clay

This was the first time in the new venue for my workshops and it worked really well. There is so much room to spread out and plenty of tables. I had to unlock and turn off the alarm system on entering which I was a bit apprehensive about, but the alarm didnt go off so I must have got it right. The students enjoyed their workshop and made some interesting motifs and beads using the techniques that I taught.

Easter Fun

I spent the Easter holiday at Two Rocks just north of Perth. My husband, Patrick and I went fishing. Patrick caught a dhufish.

Workshop Samples

As I have a Surface Design on Polymer Clay workshop to teach soon, I have been making up a few samples to show the students. This is a necklace using texture on clay created with using rubber stamps, mica powders and paints.

Perth College Art Exhibition

I attended the opening night of the Perth College Art Exhibition. I had twelve pieces of polymer clay jewellery entered. It took me an hour to drive there and the city was alive with lights and people. The exhibition hall was crowded with people sipping champagne and clutching catalogues. In the jewellery section, my work was the only polymer clay exhibited. I like to think that I am promoting this versitile product. When I left the hall I had three red stickers.................yipee.

A Blog. This is new to me!

Well, I'm setting up a blog. It's about my everyday ramblings with polymer clay and textile art.
