Precious Pieces Exhibition
I've entered this work in an exhibition title 'Precious Pieces' which is being held at the recycling centre where I hold my workshops. I have called it 'Bejewelled'. It's made from a car gasket, staples, washers, bag ties and a spring.

Art to Wear, necklace
I've been working on my garment and necklace for my Art to Wear entry. Just about finished apart from the A3 story board. Here is the neck piece to go with the garment. It' polymer clay and south sea pearls. These are cultured pearls slightly odd shapes in that they're not completely round. Their oddness does have a certain appleal.
The polymer clay twisted shapes were difficult to get identical in twist as the more I manipulated the clay, the softer it became and stretch out of shape.

My birthday present
I had a lovely surprise in the mail today. My sister, Sue had sent me a polymer clay necklace & earring set from the UK. The design is from a 'butterfly cane' that she made with a well known clay artist Melanie Dilday, while on holiday here in January. The colours are so vibrant and the beads are sanded so smooth. I shall treasure this gift.

Printing on Silk Chiffon
Spent the day printing on silk chiffon for my Art to Wear garment. It is very difficult to get the image to show up. The silk fibres are so thin that the image gets lost. I put a small amount of puff paint in with the coloured fabric paint and that has improved it. The garment has to be in the mail to Sydney by the end of May and I've still got loads to do on it.
