Frosty Morning

Temperatures plumeted to minus 6 degrees overnight. I had to scrap ice off the windscreen before I could drive to the Jewellery School. I've had a great week and made loads of pieces. I learnt lots of new skills and techniques. Lisa is such a good tutor.

Interesting copper pieces as they came out of the kiln.

Copper Clay

I've been doing a Metal Clay course at the Mid Cornwall School of Jewellery with Lisa Cain. I had met Lisa and her talented partner Robert Dancik at the USA PMC Conference 2008 in July. They asked me to look them up whenever I visited Cornwall. This week Lisa received the first batch of a new copper clay to arrive in the UK. It's still at the expermental stage and wont be released onto the market for sometime yet as Bill Struve makes any adjustments after receiving feedback from people like Lisa who are trialling the product.

Lisa has been so generous in asking me to have a play with the clay. It's ben good to be part of the pioneering stage of this new product. I cant wait to see the reults as they come out of the kiln. I'll post some pics next time.
